Kids Central Policies

  • Members and Program Participants must stay in the building at all times while their children are in Babysitting.
  • If a child is obviously ill, injured, extremely unhappy, continuously crying, disruptive to the other children, etc. their parent/guardian or caregiver will be asked to pick him/her up.
  • The Kids Central staff and/or Member Services Department determines these situations.
  • Ages: Infants must be at least three months old to  be permitted in our Infant Babysitting area.
  • Once they are steady and confident on their feet, they  will graduate to the main Kids Central play area.
  • School age children up to the age of 11 are permitted in the main Kids Central play area. Play areas within Kids Central are designated by age and  skill levels.
  • Time Limits: Infants may be left in the care of our Kids Central staff for a maximum of 1 hour and 45 minutes.

  • Capacity: For the safety of your children there is a ratio limit of eight children per adult in the main Kids Central play area and four infants per adult in the Infant Babysitting area.
  • The parent/guardian or caregiver cannot leave their child in Babysitting if this limit has been reached.
  • Kids Central staff reserves the right to further limit the ratio of adults to children if deemed necessary.
  • The Madison Area YMCA is not responsible for personal items including toys, shoes, coats, etc.
  • Lockers are provided free of charge in the upstairs hallway and downstairs locker rooms. If items are to be brought in to the Kids Central area, please make sure to label them with your child’s name.
