Chatham Township and the Madison Area YMCA have formalized a community partnership to provide management, operational support, and aquatics programming for the Colony Pool Club, a treasured summer gathering place for generations of local families. 

The Colony Pool Club has long been known as a place where neighbors connect, children grow confident in the water, and lifelong summer memories are made. This new partnership is designed to strengthen and support that tradition by combining the Township’s stewardship of the pool with the Y’s experience in aquatic operations, water safety, and community-centered programming. 

Through this partnership, the Colony Pool Club will continue to serve its members while benefiting from experienced aquatic leadership, enhanced water safety practices, and expanded opportunities for swimmers of all ages. The Y’s role is rooted in service, safety, and respect for the Colony Pool Club’s history and identity, providing trained staff, strong safety standards, and high-quality aquatics programming while honoring the atmosphere and traditions that make the pool such a valued part of the community. 

The Y introduced group swim lessons more than a century ago and today remains a leader in teaching children and adults of all ages and abilities the skills they need to become strong, confident swimmers. Through this partnership, the Madison Area YMCA will bring that expertise and proven water safety practices to support a safe and successful season at Colony Pool Club.

Membership registration, swim lessons, job opportunities, and additional summer programming details will be shared in the coming weeks. Registration is expected to open March 1, 2026.
