Effective November 1, 2025: After evaluating usage of the facility, the following additional update to our Nationwide policy is effective November 1. To ensure the best experience for our Madison Area YMCA members during high-traffic times, Nationwide access will be unavailable during the following peak hours:
Monday–Friday: 3:30 PM – 6:30 PM*
Saturday & Sunday: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM*
Outside these peak hours, Nationwide visitors are welcome in accordance with our standard Nationwide policy.
*Exception: Nationwide members visiting from outside the state of New Jersey are welcome at all times, provided that at least 51% of their visits occur at their home YMCA.
Nationwide Membership
Access to over 700 Ys across the country
We are pleased to announce that the Madison Area YMCA welcomes Nationwide members. With nationwide membership, your Y membership allows you to visit any participating YMCA in the United States and Puerto Rico, at no additional cost. So, when you're traveling, all Ys accepting Nationwide Memberships are open to Y members and provide a safe and welcoming environment for everyone - no matter where you are. Nationwide Membership is an essential part of our cause to strengthen communities.
CHECK-IN PROCESS
To ensure a safe and seamless visit, all Nationwide members must be entered into our system before accessing the facility. This is important for:
- Emergency Contact information - so we can reach someone quickly if needed,
- Safety and Security - accurate records of who is in the building,
- Membership verification - ensures your membership is active and valid.

PLEASE REMEMBER
- Nationwide members must use their home YMCA at least 51% of the time.
- A one-time waiver is required the first time you visit a Y outside your home Y. Bring your Photo ID; it only takes a few minutes!
We care about your safety
As your safety and that of your family is always our primary concern, the YMCA conducts regular sex offender screenings on all members, participants, and guests. If a sex offender match occurs, the YMCA reserves the right to cancel membership, end program participation, and remove visitation access.
