Madison Area YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program: New Class Starting in August 

(Madison, NJ) August 3, 2015 –The Madison Area YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) is accepting applications for its next class that will meet on Wednesday mornings at the Family Center, located at 111 Kings Road in Madison, beginning August 12. Applications will be accepted through Monday, August 17.

86 million Americans have prediabetes; only 10 percent even know they have it. Without changing their lifestyles, 15 to 30 percent of this population will develop Type 2 diabetes within five years.

At the forefront to combat the disease, the Y’s Diabetes Prevention Program is a “lifestyle change” program that helps adults at high risk for developing Type 2 diabetes, reduce their risk by taking steps that will improve their overall health and well-being.
