Swim Lessons

About Aquatics

Swimming is a vital skill that makes life safer and more fun. Every child should learn how to swim for safety, fitness and a positive self-image. Lessons are developmentally appropriate and designed to teach skills effectively with safety as the top priority. Over the years, at the Madison Area YMCA, we have taught thousands of children, teens and adults to swim, which has helped to minimize the risk of drowning in our community. Classes include Parent/Child through Adult swimming instruction.

So Much More

Experienced instructors offer group and private swim lessons for all ages and abilities. Swim lessons, offered year-round, build self-esteem, confidence and fitness. Our programs are focused on building strong, secure and confident individuals.

Lap and open swim times are offered. Birthday pool parties are available. The Madison Area YMCA is home to the Mariners, our competitive swim team.

What's new

We're excited to present the latest upgrades to you. Our new swim curriculum, coming this fall, is based on extensive research and is focused on building strong, secure and confident individuals — we look forward to seeing swimmers advance more quickly through the stages.
