Register for Madison Area YMCA Late Fall 2015 Classes!

(Madison, NJ) – November 3, 2015 –Register for Madison Area YMCA Late Fall 2015 classes that begin on Monday, November 23! Members and non-members welcome!

Priority registration for members begins Tuesday, November 10, at 7:30 p.m. Registration for members is on-going, both online and in-person. Non-members may register in person only starting Tuesday, November 17, at 7:30 p.m. The schedule includes new classes in various areas for all ages from parent/child to adult:

The Sports department is offering Y-Winners basketball, a great program to introduce team play to boys and girls from kindergarten through 4^th grade. Skill instruction and games are played every week against other teams in the league. Coaches provide a schedule of games.

The Gymnastics department is offering Super Kids Boys and Girls School Age Gymnastics for children 5 and older. Classes are taught with thematic lesson plans to allow for creative growth and development while building strength, self-confidence and so much more. Students will be successfully introduced to age-appropriate equipment.

The Performing Arts department is offering classes by Thomas Sellwood, a professional singer and actor, who has joined its staff to teach singing classes on Thursdays. Mr. Sellwood, who has worked in musical theater in several U.S. regional theaters and London’s West End as well as television and films, will offer five different singing classes from parent/child through adult. Private lessons are also available. Parent/child class Singalong with Me, Little Singers for 4- to 5-year-old preschoolers, Kid Choir for 6- to 8-year-olds, Junior Broadway Choir Singing for 9- to 12-year-olds and The Broadway Song Choir for teens through adults are offered this session.

Afro-Caribbean Dance is for 16 year olds and older. Looking for something new and upbeat? This class is a fun and spirited way to immerse yourself in a combination of traditional and modern Afro-Caribbean dance styles. Comfortable clothing is suggested and please keep in mind, class is taken barefoot.

The Enrichment department is offering Crazy Math for 4 to 6 year olds. Young mathematicians will master basic mathematical skills through storytelling in this fun class.

Drop and Shop is for 3-4 year olds and 5-11 year olds. Get that holiday shopping done without the added stress of worrying about the kids! In this 4 hour mini camp, under the supervision of a trusted and qualified Kids Central Instructor, your child will enjoy the Kids Central playground, burn some energy with active play, and get creative with a craft. Our exciting evening will conclude with dinner and a movie at the end of the night. Sign up early, space is limited! Family-Children or Family-Single Parent membership required. Kids Caravan is for 3-4 year olds and 5-11 year olds. With this added benefit to Kids Central Family Unlimited Babysitting, you can now use the Y uninterrupted knowing a trusted and qualified Kids Central Instructor will bring your child to and from programs! (Aquatics not included) Fit Kids Connect is for 8 to 11 year olds. In this exciting program, children will enjoy active video game fun with some healthy competition. Game on!
