William J. O’Shaughnessy, Jr. Joins the Madison Area YMCA Board of Directors

(Madison, NJ) February 19, 2016 –The Madison Area YMCA is pleased to announce that Y member and community leader William J. O’Shaughnessy, Jr. was appointed to its Board of Directors, effective January 21. Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Quest Diagnostics Inc., Mr. O’Shaughnessy has held several leadership positions in the community and professional organizations. He has been a Madison Area YMCA member for more than 15 years.

“We are delighted to welcome Bill to the Board,” said Madison Area YMCA President & CEO Diane Mann. “We are confident that he will enhance the quality leadership that is characteristic of all of our Board members.”

A Trustee of Saint Patrick Church in Chatham, where he has been active in several ministries over many years, Mr. O’Shaughnessy is a past president of the Chatham Jaycees, previously served on the Executive Board of the Villa Walsh Academy Parents Association in Morristown, was the president of the Oratory Prep Parents Guild in Summit and served on Oratory’s Board of Trustees. He serves as Class Fund Chair for Muhlenberg College and coached youth sports programs for many years.

Mr. O’Shaughnessy is former a president of the Stockholder Relations Society of New York. He is a former president of the New York chapter of the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals, a former member of the Society’s national Board of Directors and served as the Society’s national Secretary for several years. Currently, he serves as a member of the Society’s national Nominating Committee. Since July 2014, he has been a member of the Broadridge Independent Steering Committee. He is also a member of the American and New Jersey State Bar Associations.

Mr. O’Shaughnessy and his wife Tambria live in Chatham Township with their children, Billy and Caitie.
