The Madison Area YMCA’s 20th Annual Charity Golf Classic and Dinner Reception Sends More Children than Ever Before to Summer Camp; Winners: The Peer Group Foursome

(Madison, NJ) June 9, 2017–The Madison Area YMCA’s 20th Annual Charity Golf Classic and “Camp for One, Camp for All” dinner reception will send more children to summer camp than ever before. More than 100 weeks of camp were sponsored during the event in addition to the weeks of camp awarded through the proceeds of the regular auction and silent auction items at the dinner reception. 

The extraordinary commitment of sponsors, 104 golfers, dinner guests and more than 40 volunteers including 12 ADP Associates as well as dedicated Golf Event Committee members and YMCA staff, helped make it possible.

The Peer Group foursome, sponsored by Isaac Starker and the Peer Group, was the winner. Players included: Isaac Starker from Madison, Matt McKeon from Mount Arlington, Scott Parker from Morristown and Marc Benton from Morristown.

The second-place foursome was the Madison Honda foursome sponsored by Golf Committee member David Lee and Madison Honda. Players included: Golf Committee member David Lee from Flanders, Dennis Delesio from Cedar Knolls, Kevin Monaco from New Providence and Ralph Monaco from Whippany.

Citigroup Global Markets was the presenting sponsor of the Charity Golf Classic. Bank of America Merrill Lynch was a major sponsor. Other sponsors included: Gary’s Wine & Marketplace, The Gilfillan Family, Jefferies & Co., LLC, Linde, Hansen & Co., LLC, Madison Honda, The MCJ Amelior Foundation, The Peer Group, PGIM Real Estate and Wells Fargo Insurance Services Northeast, Inc. 

Janet Faig from Gillette won Closest to the Line for women and Euan Stevenson from Jersey City won Closest to the Line for men. Lisa Longino from Hackettstown won Longest Drive for women and Kevin Monaco from New Providence won Longest Drive for men.

The Charity Golf Classic is an influential fundraising event for the Madison Area YMCA’s Annual Fund. The Annual Fund enables hundreds of children and families to participate in Y membership, innovative programming, wellness initiatives and services including child care, early childhood education and summer camps at the Madison Area Y’s Family Center and F.M. Kirby Children’s Center of the Madison Area YMCA. As a cause-driven charitable organization, the Madison Area YMCA is dedicated to nurturing the potential of every child and teen, and improving the community’s health and well-being and giving back by providing support to our neighbors.
