Jolaina Peltier Joins the Madison Area YMCA as Vice President for Membership and Programs

(Madison, NJ) August 11, 2017 – The Madison Area YMCA is pleased to announce that Jolaina Peltier has joined its staff as vice president for membership and programs.

“We are delighted to welcome Jolaina to our Y and community,” said Madison Area YMCA CEO & President Diane Mann. “We look forward to her sharing her breadth and depth of experience with our organization as we continue to provide quality programs that develop a healthy spirit, mind and body.”

A veteran YMCA leader, Ms. Peltier has been with the Y for more than 10 years, having filled management positions in three different Y organizations across the country. She most recently served as executive director of the McBurney YMCA, a branch of the YMCA of Greater New York. Prior to that, Jolaina served as the executive director for the Lancaster Family YMCA in Lancaster, PA, and senior program director of the Mid-Willamette Family YMCA in Albany, OR. She brings in-depth experience in program, membership, annual campaign and major gifts fundraising, as well as noteworthy accomplishments in board development and capital expansion.

“I am honored to serve as the new vice president for membership and programs at the Madison Area YMCA,” said Ms. Peltier. “I look forward to creating transformational experiences for members, staff, volunteers and the community through programs, services and membership.” 

“Jolaina’s new position will expand our Y’s collective leadership capacity to sustain robust growth in the years to come as our Y continues on its trajectory of significant progress, mission advancements and community benefit impacts,” said Sharon Kunas, who has been promoted to the new position of senior vice president with responsibility for membership and programs, as well as development, marketing and communications. Prior to her promotion, Ms. Kunas served as vice president of organization advancement.

Ms. Peltier earned her bachelor’s degree from Southern Oregon University and her master’s degree in public/nonprofit administration from California Baptist University. She is a certified YMCA Facilitator in several subjects and earned her YUSA certifications as Team, Multi-Branch Leader and Organizational Leader.
