(Madison, NJ) June 19, 2020–The voices and laughter from students are once again filling the classrooms and multiple outdoor playgrounds on the spacious campus of the F.M. Kirby Children’s Center of the Madison Area YMCA. On Monday June 15, the Center welcomed its children and families with open arms after a nearly three-month closure.

In accordance with guidelines from the CDC, Madison Health Department, and Office of Licensing, the F.M. Kirby Children’s Center has implemented new policies and procedures to help ensure the health and safety of children, families and staff. In addition to increased outdoor play on restored playgrounds, students are grouped in smaller class sizes, or pods. The teachers in each of these pods have created new curriculum that promotes physical distancing and superior cleanliness while still encouraging social development, strengthening math and language skills, and building strong foundations for the future. Administration and teachers at the Center are excited to share the many enriching experiences of the first week back with families and are looking forward to a great summer together.

As the largest, high-quality full-service early childhood education provider in Morris county, the F.M. Kirby Children’s Center’s educational and engaging curriculum creates a stress-free learning environment in age and developmentally appropriate settings. With small classroom sizes for children ages six weeks through five years, students are guided through every age and stage of childhood with individualized learning plans and an emphasis on social skills to create happy students with a love of learning.
