(Madison, NJ) July 7, 2020 - The Madison Area YMCA is hosting a Drop-off Food Drive, Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 10 to help support the First Baptist Church of Madison's Food Pantry. Due to rising levels of food insecurity, food banks are struggling to restock their pantries, so the YMCA is pitching in to help to feed our community.

Community members can drop off non-perishable items at our Family Center just outside our front entrance doors (111 Kings Road, Madison) between 9 a.m and 3 p.m.  Items should be in bags or boxes. You can pull up, drop by the front door and go. Most needed items include cereals, box milk, fruit juices, canned fruit, canned vegetables, canned tuna and chicken, crackers, peanut butter, jelly and canned stews.

Madison Area YMCA Associate Development Director Leigh Anne Soroka shares, “Food insecurity is a growing concern for many of our community members, and the Madison Area YMCA is committed to doing our part to help alleviate some of that concern. We value our community partners like the First Baptist Church of Madison, and during these times of uncertainty, the Y is ready and willing to help in any way we can.”

As a mission-driven charitable organization, the Madison Area YMCA is dedicated to nurturing the potential of every child and teen and improving the community’s health and well-being and giving back by providing support to our neighbors.
