(Madison, NJ) September 25, 2020 – The Madison Area YMCA is committed to saying "yes" to our community. Recognizing the needs of our members and neighbors, and the challenges and limitations of our current King’s Road facility, the Madison Area YMCA continues its fundraising campaign to expand our Y. The "Our Community Our Future" fundraising campaign will help expand the Family Center and the Y's program capacity to meet the growing needs of children, teens and adults of all ages for decades to come. The facility expansion project includes a new aquatics center with an 8-lane competitive pool and spectator section, a full-court/two side court basketball gymnasium and spectator areas, expanded fitness and wellness spaces, additional multi-use spaces, increased on-site parking, and a second entrance and lobby. The project continues to progress on schedule and is expected to be completed by mid-year 2021.

Madison Area YMCA Chairman of the Board Scot Guempel shares, “Our hundreds of donors have made this important capital expansion possible. And right now, we have an exciting opportunity for donors to help us reach our next goal. Offered by an anonymous donor, our “Homestretch Gift Challenge” is to reach $8.6M in our Capital Campaign by December 31. When we reach that benchmark anytime yet this year, our donor will contribute a most generous gift of $400K to help achieve a new high point of $9M raised in the Campaign! We started this effort three years ago and our donors have been with us through all phases of the project. Right now, we need your generous support, and we hope you will join us in this challenge.”

Guempel adds that, “Gifts from individuals, small family foundations, donor advised funds, Board, and staff will be considered for the Homestretch Gift Challenge.”

Just as the generosity of community members of the past made our current facility possible, several options exist to leave your legacy that will serve our generation and the next. Gifts of any size are appreciated for this Homestretch Gift Challenge. Special opportunities in the Mosaic Path to the Future recognition program include nameplates: $1,000+ Bronze level; $2,500+ Silver level; $5,000+ Gold level and $10,000+ Platinum level. Additional naming opportunities are also available.

Madison Area YMCA President and CEO Diane Mann notes, “This is a tremendous opportunity for our YMCA and will give us a much-needed boost to the Campaign as we near completion of our Family Center Expansion. With the community’s help, we will provide additional services to encourage a healthy and active community. We will be able to reach more people in our community, making sure we can say “yes” today and in the future.”
