(Madison, NJ) – January 6, 2022 – The Madison Area YMCA is excited to announce our Winter Session Registration begins on Monday, January 10, including brand new and improved classes for all ages to kick off the new year. Registration for Members opens on Monday, January 10 at 9 a.m. Open (non-member) registration for classes with remaining availability begins online on Friday, January 14 at 9 a.m.

As we welcome 2022, we welcome and support the fulfillment of all our resolutions. What better way to begin on this journey than at the Y! While parents get in their workout at the Madison Area YMCA’s Family Center, their children of various age ranges can explore and develop new interests in a range of classes. Programs such as Sibling Gymnastics and Sibling Y Ninja Gym are perfect for children to grow together in the program. Sibling rates are also applied after full registration for the first child, with the second child receiving a 10% reduced fee and the third child receiving a 20% reduced fee. At the Y, there is truly something for every member of the family!

“The Sibling Y Ninja Gym class is an excellent way for parents and siblings to develop strength, flexibility and social skills together through a variety of age-appropriate Y Ninja Gym activities,” said Madison Area YMCA School of Performing Arts Director and Y Ninja Gym Director Gus Ibranyi. “Families get the opportunity to work together to explore new and exciting activities and adventures in a safe and fun environment”.
Is your child looking to become a certified babysitter? Check out our Babysitter’s Club program, where teens between 6th and 11th grade engage in an invigorating 10-week course where they will learn the skills and knowledge to become a successful babysitter. At the Y, we focus on keeping children safe, and we recognize the importance of equipping the next generation with the skills needed to do just that. Together, we create a safe environment within the Y and our local communities.

As a leader in healthy living, the Madison Area YMCA also offers opportunities to provide essential programs that promote wellness for our adult members! Check out our Adult programs, such as the Adults Masters Swimming program; whether you want to improve your swimming technique, work on your fitness journey, or meet fellow swimmers, this class will guarantee a fun and welcoming environment for all swimmers! Keep an eye out for the Adult Basketball League coming in March, with priority registration opening up on February 7.

Are you or your children looking for something tailored to specific interests and skill-levels? Check out our Pod offerings including coach and instructor-led Fitness, Gymnastics, School of Performing Arts (SOPA) and Sports pods. All winter SOPA programs are 20-weeks that culminate in an end-of-session showcase performance. Together, let’s create a weekly gathering for you and your pod to enjoy Y programming in a fun and safe environment.

With clinics, workshops, intensives and programs for preschoolers through teenagers across Aquatics, Fitness, Gymnastics, School of Performing Arts, new special needs programming, Sports and Y Ninja Gym, there is something for everyone! YMCA programs help keep children's minds and bodies active and build confidence and a positive attitude. Children can explore new interests. Having choices and taking responsibility engages children and allows them to learn and enjoy something new or something they are already enjoying. Browse our offerings online with your children; you may be surprised at the classes they are interested in!

Don’t wait to register as classes may fill up quickly. The Y offers a wide range of programs, inspiration and knowledge to help kids reach their goals. Visit www.madisonareaymca.org/2022 for more information.

Although winter programs are open to the all, to receive the attractive member rate an active Madison Area YMCA membership is required. Join the Y today! The Y strives to be available for all through financial assistance available for membership, child care and programs. Wellness has never been more essential to our community than it is now. As a leader in healthy living, the Madison Area YMCA diligently monitors developments surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and communicates with and provides resources to our community. Following recommendations from the Madison Department of Health and the CDC, and following the Governor’s Executive Orders, we provide a safe and healthy experience for all participants, and strongly recommend that both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals wear face masks indoors at the Y. When face coverings are not worn, efforts should be made to maintain at least 6 feet from others. Individuals ages 2+ that are not fully vaccinated MUST wear a mask when entering and throughout this facility. All Y staff are required to wear a mask while indoors. We are pleased to share that 100% of staff are compliant with our COVID-19 mandate which requires either vaccination or an exemption with a testing component. We continue to do everything we can to ensure the health and safety for all. For more information about our current Mask Guidelines, please visit www.madisonareaymca.org/maskpolicy.
