(Madison, NJ) October 12, 2022 – Thanks to many generous sponsors, 104 golfers and more than 20 volunteers, including YMCA staff, 10 associates from ADP, and a dedicated Golf Event Committee co-chaired by Jaime Pego Curcio and Scott Waterstredt, local children will be able to experience the magic of YMCA summer camp in 2023. This year's Madison Area YMCA Annual Golf Classic held on Monday, September 19, 2022 was one of the most successful events in the golf outing's 25-year history, raising over $85,000 to support making summer day camp a reality for local children.

“Celebrating 25 years of the event was a big milestone for our Y. As we continue to see children impacted by the effects of the pandemic, the Y continues to ensure it is doing all it can to support the emotional well-being of our youth. We recognize that summer camp plays a large part in that and continues to be a way for all children to learn, grow and thrive. The generous support from sponsors, golfers, dinner guests and volunteers all contributed to the success of this year's golf event and reception and helps us to ensure all children have the opportunity to experience the magic of summer camp today and in the future,” said Associate Development Director Melissa DeSalvo.

Citi Global Markets was the Presenting Sponsor of the Annual Golf Classic. Linde Hansen & Co, Provident Bank, USI Insurance Services, Lakeland Hills Family YMCA, KPMG, The MCJ Amelior Foundation, Situs AMC, and Gary's Wine and Marketplace were also major sponsors of the charity tournament. Thank you to our other sponsors, including WithumSmith+Brown, Donnelly, Minter & Kelly, Bertolo Warshaw Group, Port Authority PBA, MRY Associates, and Novalis Roofing & Siding, for your support as well.

The second-place foursome included Art Owens of Madison, Drew Cohen of New York City, Jimmy Vukanovich of Chatham, and Adam Criscione of Springfield. Eric D’Alessandro of Hoboken and Nancy Wynant of Basking Ridge won the Closest to the Pin contests. Mike Yanocha won the Closest to the Pin contest. Scott Waterstredt and Colleen Hurley won the Longest Drive contests. The Straightest Drive contest was won by John Mortenson and Jaime Pego Curcio.

Madison Area YMCA Leader in Training Em Babiak of Chatham shared her testimonial at the evening reception. Babiak noted the fun, educational, enriching, memorable summer she has had at camp over the years: “These programs have given me lifelong friendships. As LITs, we were taught responsibility, decision-making, conflict and resolution, and career readiness through workshops, classroom lessons, and hands-on experiences. Every camper, LIT, counselor, and director has been so welcoming, accepting, and understanding. I was lucky enough to spend three years as an LIT and I’m confident when I say it has prepared me for the next step in my Quest Camp journey: camp counselor.”

All of the proceeds from this year's Annual Golf Classic will again make Y summer camp, membership, child care and enriching YMCA programs available to children and families who require funding assistance to participate, helping to ensure that local children in need may attend YMCA day camps for structured, supervised learning, recreation and good, safe, summer fun!
