The YMCA Teen Leaders Club is part of a national teen initiative to promote the Y's four core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. The Teen Leaders Club helps develop a solid character in each individual and teaches responsibility to create a supportive community environment, inclusive of all people.
"The Teen Leaders Club is a great start for teens to get involved in the Y and in their community! We not only engage in volunteer opportunities and community service, but also focus on what it means to be a leader. In an aim to encourage good decision-making and independence, the club provides teens the opportunity to take initiative and plan events that help others, such as this bake sale,” says Associate Director of Camp, Teen, and Family Alexandria De La Cruz. “I am so proud of them for taking the initiative and wanting to make a difference little by little for their community.”
