(Madison, NJ) August 27, 2018 – The Madison Area YMCA and Holy Family School in Florham Park have partnered to offer STEM and performing arts programs at Holy Family School for their preschool 3, preschool 4 and kindergarten students.

“We are excited to bring programming to Holy Family School and extend the Madison Area YMCA’s reach to our young Florham Park students,” said Madison Area YMCA Senior Program Director Kim Buccheri.

“Creative Movement” for preschool 3 students is a great introduction to dance arts and gives children the opportunity to move in new ways while developing fine and gross motor skills. “Mad about Math” teaches young mathematicians basic mathematical facts through crafts and stories. “Mini Hip Hop” for preschool 4 and kindergarten students gets children up and moving to the rhythm of the beat. “Little Lab Coats” teaches young scientists about science as they perform experiments in a safe and fun environment!

As a cause-driven charitable organization, the Madison Area YMCA is dedicated to nurturing the potential of every child and teen, and improving the community’s health and well-being and giving back by providing support to our neighbors. Madison, Chatham and Florham Park are in the Madison Area YMCA’s service area.

The Madison Area YMCA’s STEM programming prepares youth today for the future. Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) is an important part of youth development because it creates opportunities for youth to achieve, build relationships and feel a sense of belonging as they question, investigate, build, test, solve problems, analyze, communicate findings and perform cognitive thinking. The Y believes that all kids have potential and that nurturing that potential means fostering problem-solving, creativity, planning, analysis and decision-making skills. STEM programs provide youth with the skills needed to succeed.

The Madison Area YMCA’s School of Performing Arts is comprised of dedicated, passionate and knowledgeable instructors with more than 70 years of combined experiences. Offerings encompass a wide array of the performing arts disciplines in a nurturing and inspiring environment. Every student has the potential to discover and express themselves creatively.
